A Science Fiction /Crime Podcast

Angel and May is a cinematic full-cast audio drama featuring two female detectives in a pub on an Asteroid habitat.

It will appeal to those who like a rich universe of diverse characters with complex interactions. It has LGBTQ+ elements as well as crime stories and space drama. If you think you will like this sort of thing, I recommend listening until episode three (when our characters arrive in the belt), and I'm sure you will be hooked.

Think of it like 'Firefly' but set in a pub!

Superb ***** This is simply a superb podcast. Great story arc and great script with beautifully cultivated background effects combine to weave an intricate tapestry. I love these characters and their world, and genuinely want to know their story arc. Reminiscent (but not derivative) of old school radio plays that spawned gems like Red Dwarf and Hitchhiker's. I can't recommend this enough. Dudegobshite 23-7-2022

See Characters and Locations

See a flythrough of the Bencubbin and retrograde Inn. This is the place where the main characters live. See Gander, Alex, Sharrow, Jude, Costas, Slim, Ghost, Jacinta, Sophie, Doily, Zed and Chen. Can you identify them?

A tale set in the Asteroid belt in a place called ‘New London’

Who would have thought that an O'Neill habitat attached to Asteroid 129 Antigone, could have a red-light district, but it does!

New London Docks

The space colony has a large non-rotating spaceport attached at one end. This is the prime entry point for the public and most cargo. There are a few private space docks (such as the one under the Retrograde occasionally used by the RCBS) but the amount of cargo is minuscule compared to the commercial docks.

Everyone loves the ‘Retrograde’

A tough hotel/bar down a dark alley with many hidden secrets.

Run by a tough character

A tough old drag queen is exactly what the Bencubbin requires to run one of the largest gay pubs in town.

A-Ray the security plant does not like new customers

You have to really want to meet Angel or May to get in the office especially if ‘the plant’ has not been fed.

A Technical Mercenary Regiment uses the Retrograde as a base

The inn was constructed in one of the old hatches used to build the habitat. It, therefore, has many under street-level spaces of multiple height decks. These are occupied by the barracks, training and command and control centres for the Regiment (The Royal and Cherry Blue Storms {RCBS}). The image shows the Command Control area with the holo table and communications.

Includes a spaceship dock

The old hatch which opened to space was converted into a spaceship dock with multiple ship bays. Gander parks one of her two ships in the bay (used for ‘light smuggling’ operations) and the RCBS also have two troop carriers and a picket ship

Behind the Scenes.

A lot of work goes into producing each episode, see how the magic happens!
