Jean Spencer

The first time on stage was with the Elanora Players in Sydney playing Niamh in The Patrick Pearse Hotel and went on to perform many roles with them. Jean temporarily departed the stage to go sailing in the Pacific and also cruised the English canals, then came back to land in Brisbane where she joined the Mt. Cotton Drama Group appearing as Maude in Harold and Maude. She was also seen in several more plays and co-directed with her husband and then moved to Villanova Players where she stripped in Calendar Girls and performed the monologue The Cream Cracker under the Settee. Jean comments that an audio podcast presents a different approach and It is fascinating that words can be eliminated and re-spoken, not like theatre.
