Hans Culan.

Farmhand on ADELLE SORSENSON’S station. Originally from IRELAND, his periodic bouts of heavy drinking combined with his tendency to go wherever the wind took him saw him wash up in NEW LONDON. In the gutter, on the verge of drinking himself to death, ADELLE SORENSON found him and picked him up and took him home with her. She fed him and nursed him back to health and weaned him off of alcohol. Having never really had a family of his own or close friends, he quickly became slavishly devoted to her, telling anyone who’ll listen that she saved his life.
